E2D-025 feat. Radio Slave and Jokton Strealy

A Note from E2D Resident Jokton:
Burning Man 2007 is just next week! This will be my fourth year attending, and I am so excited I am beside myself! Wow two mohawks! Ok, away from the mirror...

I am camping with "Den of Mekka", and as we do not have official placement, we will be aiming to end up somewhere on 8:00, with a cross street of around Coral Reef, or closer to Esplanade if we can. We will keep Playa Info updated with our address at Center Camp, so Check in there to see where we are. We will have the famous Mackie sound system there, and will be having several parties throughout the week. I'll be playing various styles to fit the mood ant time of day.

I will also be spinning at "Summer of Love" camp, Along with Jesse Wright,  for happy hour Friday afternoon-evening (3-7 PM). Also earlier that week on Tuesday, we will be having a Pocket Tag Team (no, not Pocket Pool, Pocket Tag Team! Its more fun than Pocket Pool). Summer of Love camp can be found at 9:00 and Coral Reef. I'll be spinning more upbeat happy daytime party music here, electro house, funk, and such (well, as defined by me anyway)

I will be playing along with the other Pocket DJs on Saturday night after the Burn, on an Art Car called "Sarahbellum", a fuzzy, black light jungle car with an elevated dance-floor, and a chill out area beneath. I also will be playing a special solo-set on this car all night on Tuesday, not to be missed! Look me up on playa-info when you arrive to find out how to find it! Tuesdays set will be a journey into deep progressive and deep trance and house, and Saturdays set will be general Pocket madness! I've attached a pic of this car from last year so you can keep an eye out for it

I also may play a day-time set with Shylock˝ at the Red Light District at 4:20 and Estuary, check playa info for day and timeslot.

Another camp I'll be playing at is "Lost Reality" located around 4:20 and Grassland. Style will be harder with more tech/techno, and it will be thursday and/or friday night (probably around Midnight). Check Playa Info!

Also, a little POCKET evening at "Sagrada" for Wednesday evening on the playa.  The same peeps that did La Dolce Vita last year, and Japanorama  the year before same location - Esplanade and 6, at the entrance to center camp. Music starts around 5-ish and goes till ???.

And one final art car... This year, the Rotunda Mobile Disco crew will be the main frame builder for Omusubi Engine, a mobile recycled waste collection vehicle, supported by Mekka and Rotunda Sound System. The Omusubi Engine will be driving around the Playa, collecting recyclable materials to help minimize the waste that accumulates during BM. There will be live performances, poet readings, tea ceremony and of course, DJ's to fill the air with music during the recycling duty. You can find the drawings we have submitted to the official Burning Man DMV (Department of Mutant Vehicles) at:
www.n-y-d.net/BM07/omusubi.html
Omusubi Engine is a collaborative project between Tokyo, Los Angeles, and New York artists, performers, and Burners. The Omusubi Engine components will be manufactured around the globe using recycled materials, with final assembly taking place on the Playa. Best of all, the truck is 100% reusable for future use!

If you are planning on attending Burning Man for the first time, make sure you check out the "Survival Guide" at burningman.com before showing up!

If you are not going to Burning Man, We will be having a party on Thursday Night at the Mor bar called "Dirty", I'll be playing along with Maven, Sammy Bliss,  and Jesse Wright all night!

And lastly, Elements2Dance.com has hit the quarter century mark in episodes published, and I am glad I have been a part of it as their resident DJ for this past year. It's free to listen to and subscribe, and you don't need an iPod to enjoy it, so what are ya waiting for? Visit e2d.org and listen! This episode, E2D-025, features Radio Slave, along with a classic mix from me!

I hope to see you on the Playa!
